What (not to do) when life sucks

Sometime life sucks

Sometimes, life sucks.

Usually, it's because things don't go as we planned.

It could be the repairman showed up late.

It could be the 'other' political party is in charge.

It could be you didn't get the job you were sure you would get.

It could be a wildfire or a Category 4 hurricane.

It could be a sudden death of a loved one.

When life sucks, it usually means we THOUGHT we knew what would happen, but it didn't happen that way.

And then we roll over in our minds how this unplanned reality isn't right.

It isn't fair.

It shouldn't be.

"When I argue with reality, I lose—but only 100 percent of the time."--Byron Katie

Depending on the circumstances, yes, it takes time to accept things. But we often want to argue with reality, and that gets us nowhere.

When life sucks, put reality into context--but don't argue with what is.

You may not be ready to accept it, but you have to be open to allowing the truth to be.

From there, you can move forward.

Have a peaceful day,

Alisa
